Le crime ne paie pas - Crime does not pay

Yes, crime does not pay... sometimes ! The "Trois monstres" ("Three monsters") cover is due to Jean-Albert Carlotti (1909-2002). Jean-Albert Carlotti is best known as a painter, but he has also been active as an illustrator for the press. Born in Lyon, he started out illustrating novels for magazines like Marius and Le Hérisson in 1932. In 1950, he began a collaboration with the newspaper France-Soir, and became one of the main illustrators for the vertical strips 'Amours Célèbres' and 'Le Crime ne Paie pas', which were written by Paul Gordeaux and Robert Mallat.

Batman - The killing Joke-The Dark Knight Returns

The Killing Joke is an influential one-shot Batman comic written by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland, published by DC Comics in 1988. The Dark Knight Returns is a Batman graphic novel mini-series written and drawn by Frank Miller and published from February to June 1986. Both are among my favourite comics ever !

Hot Blog Circle - Is that for you ?

Blogger, a message to you ! I thought that it would be cool if all the blogs we love to read and visit had a "sign" or a symbol to recognize themselves among the mass of all and anything we find here. Ok, this is not an award, just a way to show that we take our stuff seriously and that we are part of a kind of "good taste" blogs circle. When I talk about "good taste", I mean all the stuff you find here, from lowbrow art to hardcore bikes, trash literature, tattoos, weird things of all kinds... And which are pure enchantment to us ! If you recognize yourself and your blog in that "philosophy", just copy the picture and put it on your blog ! Of course, you are free to pass it along to every blog you may find of 1st interest... But we don't need to be a lot... Good stuff, free spirit and attitude ! Don't forget to tell me if you join, I'll keep a "list" and make link to you. Cheers to all.

The Werewolf of Paris - Guy Endore

The Werewolf of Paris is a horror novel writen by Guy Endore in 1933. It tells the story of Bertrand Caillet who turns into a werewolf. In 1962 Hammer Studios produced the Curse of the Werewolf, directed by Terence Fisher, the first adaptation of the story. "Legend of the Werewolf" in 1975 was also based on the novel. This cover (the one I prefer !) is from the Avon 1951 edition.
