Salut les Copains - French pop music magazine

"Salut les Copains" ("Hi Little Bastards") is a French pop music magazine, first published during the summer of 1962 (last issue #311 in january 1994) by Frank Ténot and Daniel Filipacchi, as written continuation of the radio program, diffused every day on Europe 1, since 1959. The magazine knew at once an extraordinary success which allowed it in its highlight to exceed the million sold copies (hey guys, it's France !) and to give its unity to the "yé-yé" generation, by putting regularly on covers, the artists idols as Johnny Hallyday, Sylvie Vartan, Françoise Hardy, Sheila, Claude François, then Jacques Dutronc and Michel Polnareff.
The magazine liked publishing detailed reports on everyday life, sometimes concerts, of young French singers, more rarely on the American and English singers, in the considerable exception of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. The main writers were Éric Vincent, Raymond Mouly, Guy Abitan, Régis Pagniez, Michel Taittinger (yes, the Champagne's heir !)... Photos were mostly entrusted to Jean-Marie Périer and to Tony Frank.
