Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde books and comics

The strange case of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde was written by Robert Louis Stevenson and was first published in 1886. It was initially written as a lurid thriller, but Stevenson's wife famously burned the manuscript forcing him to begin again. He composed the next draft in a three-day marathon writing session. The second draft of the story was far more "literary". In it, Stevenson created an avatar for the Victorian unconscious mind. The novella delivers more than just Gothic suspense; it personifies the discoveries Freud was making about human nature at the same time.
