Cinefantastique - The Wicker Man (1973)

It's been my favourite film for a long time. This year The Wicker Man celebrated its 35th anniversary! The best British horror film ever made? yes!
Sergeant Neil Howie arrives on a Scottish island looking for a missing teenager girl, Rowan Morrison. The place belongs to Lord Summerisle and is famous because of their plantation of apples and other fruits and their harvest. Sgt. Howie realizes that the locals are pagans, practicing old rituals, and Rowan is probably alive and being prepared to be sacrificed. The end of the story is a tragic surprise. With Edward Woodward ... Sergeant Howie, Christopher Lee ... Lord Summerisle (in an exceptional yet short performance!), Diane Cilento ... Miss Rose, Britt Ekland ... Willow... And Ingrid Pitt ... Nymphomaniac librarian!

Yes, a great film with an excellent Paul Giovanni soundtrack... "And on that bed there was a girl and on that girl there was a man and from that man there was a seed".... Superb!

Definitely one of my favorites - it is a really great film! The part Christopher Lee was meant to play.
