Barbe Rouge - Original Gangster of the Caribbean

Published by "Pilote" from his first number in 1959, this series by Charlier, one of the most prolix scriptwriters of comic strips countered then directly in the form of albums (26 by Charlier) and pass in the Great magazine "Super As" in 1979 and 1980. I don't know if it translated into english but it should be !
A parody of Barbe Rouge (Red Beard) and his crew appeared in the album of the series Astérix le Gaulois "Astérix gladiator": the boat of Barbe Rouge quickly was sunk by Astérix and Obélix. Born of René Goscinny's joke towards Jean-Michel Charlier, the appearance of the pirates crew eventually became a recurring joke in the albums of Astérix, their boat being regularly poured by the Gaulois. What was worth an almost unique case of becoming cartoon character, under a parodic shape, a character of another series, the pastiche becoming even more known than the original.
