Franz Gaul is an Austrian artist (1837-1906). He was a trained historical-scenes painter. Most of his work represents drafts for theatres -, opera -, and to ballet productions and are put on as water color over a light pencil drawing. More than 100 years later they keep an incredible timeless touch.
